The Figure 8 for Relaxed Eye Movement and Clear Vision
This is a great exercise to practice controlling the physical movement of your eyes.
Imagine a giant figure 8 on the floor, about 10 feet in front of you.
Trace the figure 8 with your eyes, slowly.
Trace it one way for a few minutes and then trace it the other way for a few minutes.
Use both the standing and the lying figure 8.
Rolling Your Eyes for Improved Vision
1. Roll your eyes in a circle – Sit up straight and relax. Look to the left and slowly roll your eyes in a circle clockwise. Do it clockwise 5 times and then counterclockwise 5 times. Repeat this cycle 3 times.
2. Roll your Eyes in expanding circles – Sit up straight and relax and move your eyes in circular motion as in the right side illustration.
Sit up straight, relax and remember to smile! Roll your eyes as in the above illustrations.
Near and Far Focus
- Sit on a chair or stand in front of a blank wall and focus on a nearby object, e.g. a pencil. It should be about 10 inches (20-30 cm) away from your eyes.
- Focus on the object
- Look at something distant. Focus on that distant object that is 5-10 feet away and try to see it in detail.
- Look on the nearby object again.
- Change this focus 5 times. Repeat this cycle 3 times
End your Vision Exercises with Palming
Warm up your palms and cover your eyes with your palms, breathe deeply and stay relaxed for 1-2 minutes.
You can also end your eye workout by simply closing your eyes and keeping them shut in a dark, quiet room for several minutes. Let them cool down and rest.
How to Massage your Eyes for Improved Vision
A massage will improve blood circulation in and around the eyes.
1. Massage your pressure points (as in the above illustration) – Pressure points are located in areas such as the temples, the back corners of the eyes and the middle of the eyebrows. Get into the habit of pressure point massages about twice a day, once during the day and once at night.
2. Apply a warm and cold compress: Soak a towel in warm water, and a towel in cold water. Place the warm towel on your face and make sure that it drapes over your eyebrows, closed eyelids, and cheeks. After 2-3 minutes, remove the warm towel and place the cold towel on your face.
3. A full face massage: Soak a towel in warm water and rub your neck, forehead and cheeks with the towel. Then, use your fingertips to gently massage your forehead and closed eyes.
4. Eyelid massage: First you need to wash your hands well. Close your eyes and massage them with circular movements of your fingers for 1-2 minutes. Make sure to press very lightly on your eyes as you massage them. By applying light pressure you will help to stimulate your eyes. Previous Page
